Summer Camp is an unforgettable, life changing experience
Set in the beautiful North Saskatchewan River valley, Shekinah Summer Camp provides the opportunity for campers to disconnect (we have no cell service or wi-fi, down in the valley) and reconnect with God, nature and each other!
What sets Shekinah apart from many other summer camps is our small camp atmosphere. There are 8 counselors who each lead groups of up to 8 kids, which means that we can learn each other’s names on the first day; nobody is a stranger!
We are very excited to be offering our beautiful, timber-framed cabins again at Shekinah! We don't actually spend much time inside, during summer camp, but our old shanty tents were just a bit past their due date. Using our existing cabins, as well as our new, beautiful timber frame cabins, we will be able to offer a comfortable place to sleep, as well as protection from the heat of the day.
We spend as much time outside as possible. We make good use of our 287 acres hiking, biking, playing games, and exploring. A highlight for many campers is “overnighter,” where the girls and boys hike to separate camping spots and cook supper, eat s’mores, sing songs, and enjoy the view of the creek-fed ravine below them. Other popular camp activities include canoeing, tubing, disc golf, arts and crafts, archery, camping skills, initiative tasks, climbing wall, and of course our zip line, the Flying Fox!
All of our counselors have graduated high school and are certified in Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C. We have a fully certified lifeguard and all staff running the climbing wall and Flying Fox are certified by the Canadian Ropes Course Company. Shekinah is an accredited camp and a member of the Saskatchewan Camping Association.
There are a lot of very good reasons to send your child to summer camp. A quick Google search of "Why Summer Camp?" will bring up more than 600,000 pages with reasons to get excited about summer camp. Check it out on pages like this one here. You can also read a piece by Rick Mercer, Canadian TV personality, on what summer camp meant to him and his career.
Because Shekinah Summer Camp is relatively small, young people get to experience community in a safe environment, step outside of their regular, screen-filled lives and experience nature, recharge their spirits, and make friendships that can last a lifetime.
If you or your children are interested in coming to camp, check out the links on this page. You don’t need to be a kid to be at camp! Every year we are looking for counselors, CITs (counselors in training), and volunteers to make summer camp a special experience for children of all ages.
By the way, the food at camp is fantastic! Thanks to many dedicated - and talented - volunteer cooks, the food is particularly good. You'll notice that our non-camp-specific employees often "just happened to be in the area at lunch time" and will be joining your children for meals. Some favourite dishes are: Potato Wedges, Pizza-in-a-Pan, Yellow Chicken, and Cornflake Chicken Fingers. And desserts, of course. The desserts are fantastic.
We are looking forward to meeting you this summer!

Children's Camps

Shekinah Children's Camps
Overnight Camps - Children’s Camp (ages 7*-11)
Dates:
- C1 - July 2-7 ($375 + tax)
- C2 - July 30-August 2 ($250 + tax)*
- C3 - August 6-11 ($375 + tax)
Children’s camp is a great way for your child to gain some independence and self-confidence in a safe and fun environment. The focus is on making friends, trying new things, appreciating and exploring the natural world, and, of course, having fun!
*Age 6 will be allowed for our short week, July 30-August 2.
We are trying something new, this summer. We will run a 4 day / 3 night camp and will allow 6 year olds to experience camp, perhaps with an older sibling. This will be a slightly scaled back version of our regular summer camp, and there will be no outdoor overnighter offered for this week.
This is a chance to either take advantage of a shorter time frame for camp or introduce a younger child to the joys of Shekinah camping.
See the online registration form for all details. Give us a call, 1-306-945-4929, or send us an email, camps@shekinah.ca, for more information!

If you are aged 11 and up and are looking for a way to get outside, make new friends, be yourself, and have tons of fun, Intermediate Camp is for you! You might even take a canoe trip down the North Saskatchewan to the sand bar for some beach activities!
**We recommend campers that need a stable schedule and more support during the week choose Intermediate Camp instead of Senior Teens Camp.
